COLOMBIA STRIPED CATURRA

BERRY / COCONUT / JAMMY

 

This variety of the classic Caturra is grown at 1750 m. by Wilmer Omero and his family on his farm La Cumbre in the Huila region. But unlike traditional Caturra, the ripe coffee bears are striped and the character is more complex and fruit driven. All the work around the coffee is done on the farm by the family, they both pick, peel, ferment and dry the coffee. Here is an accuracy and pride that in every way impacts on the nature of the coffee. In this microlot we find sweet gooseberries, ripe strawberries and a sweetness in the finish.
